The Netherlands (North Holland)
Challenge:
Fibre installation, splicing, termination and testing of additional optical fibre cables within the 60MW data centre facility resulting in an ISP fibre capacity enhancement effort from the core network room to the server floor. The fibre cable augmentation was to provide for a total of 6,912f total fibres split over eight locations through the data centre. Four locations on each fabric and to follow diverse routing at all times throughout the entire installation path. This was to be performed in hours and around live and essential services. No disruption to daily services could be tolerated.
Solution:
A dedicated project team worked closely with the client, client security and Rellium senior management to deliver this project within the agreed project timeline. Matching and exceeding the clients requirements in many aspects. The team had to perform the installation in normal working hours, therefore full consideration had to be given to other users and employees of the installation space and daily briefs held on where we could avoid any conflict of movement and therefore avoid delays to the client and Rellium. The installation height of the infrastructure was challenging at 5.5m. This was managed through proper training and equipment deployment in the live DC space.
Result:
Completely seamless addition to the network with zero downtime for both the client and Rellium. Everything was installed, tested and spliced to both, industry, vendor and client specification. All labelling testing and final submission requirements were met and exceeded. Satisfied customer followed by repeat business.

Challenge:
Deploy WiFi and LAN capability (both ethernet and fibre) over the entirety of the new 60MW data centre on the existing campus. This project fell outside of the registered country of the company. This was to be completed at the height of the COVID pandemic whilst observing the client and countries strict quarantine rules and procedures. Ensuring no downtime to the installation. The secondary phase of this installation required the external installation of the LAN connectivity and the completion of the clients fibre fire ring. This was to be completed in December in challenging weather conditions.
Solution:
Teams were phased into the installation and as a result we were able to meet all quarantine rules without putting the project timeline at risk. Upon returning to site following the Christmas break Rellium were the only company able to fully deploy our teams to complete the works as per our agreed schedule.
Result:
Project was completed on schedule and to the expected high standards of our client and vendors. Overcoming the challenges that COVID posed and through planning and the agility of the labour force, successfully delivered the project.

Challenge:
Provide ongoing support for the live 270MW data centre facility and be able to scale labour substantially at short notice. To be able to draw on a pool of experienced operatives in this unique environment. Maintaining the highest standards in both quality and H&S whilst meeting the challenges of the global pandemic.
Solution:
Rellium provides a pool of engineers that can be deployed at short notice when projects are scaled up and rotate this team when project requirements are low. All are therefore experienced in this particular environment and are able to maintain quality and H&S expectations to the highest level in a very sensitive and live environment.
Result:
A continually satisfied client and ongoing relationship that goes from strength to strength.
